This position will work to facilitate community engagement through cooperative extension programs with an overall goal of building economic stability in target communities. This position will build understanding among residents and community leaders about the long-term economic benefits of building healthy communities and improving the vibrancy and quality of local spaces. They will facilitate communication and partnership among private business and public entities to drive sustainable economic development and infrastructure improvements that will benefit local farmers, business owners, and private citizens in Louisiana. This is a statewide position.
The Assistant/Associate Extension Agent will work under the supervision and direction of the Central Region Director, as well as the state SNAP-Ed Program Coordinator. The agent will provide primary leadership in planning, implementing, evaluating, and reporting efforts related to community development.
