LSU AgCenter is hiring for Assistant/Associate Extension Agent (EFNEP Supervisor and General Nutrition R00074498).
Responsibilities / Requirements: The LSU AgCenter is actively seeking applicants who can contribute to such an environment through their scholarship, teaching, mentoring, and professional service for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and Flavors of Health (FOH) programs.
The employee will provide 75% effort as the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) supervising agent. The incumbent will provide leadership to EFNEP, including the hiring, training, evaluating and the supervision of local EFNEP personnel; develop and sustain collaborative relationships with community agencies and grassroots organizations; and manage parish program.
Additionally, the employee will spend time (25%) directing efforts focusing on nutrition, health, and wellness by planning, implementing, and evaluating educational workshops, series of lessons and other teaching activities for general audiences in Orleans Parish with the Flavors of Health (FOH) program.
Qualification Requirements: A baccalaureate degree in nutrition, public health, health promotion, family and consumer sciences, human sciences, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university is required. A registered dietician with community experience is preferred. Persons with only an undergraduate degree must have a minimum 2.5 overall grade-point average based on a 4-point grading system. If the applicant has pursued any graduate courses, the grade-point average of all graduate work must be at least 3.0 on a 4.0 system.
