An official election is being held for members to vote for candidates interested in serving on the 2025-2026 LAND Board of Directors.

President – Brooke Lowenkron, RDN, LDN

Brooke Lowenkron, MS, RDN, LDN, brings seven years of board experience to the
Louisiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (LAND), including service on both the LAND
Board and the Baton Rouge Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is a Telehealth Registered
Dietitian with Nourish, Inc., delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care, and formerly led
clinical operations as Nutrition Services Department Head. Since 2022, Brooke has served as
LAND's Public Policy Coordinator, where she has driven impactful legislative efforts—including
her leadership in securing a favorable committee vote for the Dietitian Licensure Compact Bill
(LA HB399) in 2025. A recipient of the 2025 LAND Emerging Leader in Dietetics Award, she
has presented nationally at FNCE and earned multiple honors for her work in advocacy,
research, and leadership. She holds a Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences from
Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University and a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State
University. In addition to her board leadership role, Brooke will serve another three-year term as
LAND’s Public Policy Coordinator, continuing her advocacy and policy efforts for the state of
Louisiana.

Treasurer – Megan Baldwin, RDN, LDN

Megan Baldwin, RDN, LDN, is proud to be a candidate for Treasurer of the Louisiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (LAND). With three consecutive years of dedicated service on the LAND Board, she brings a strong foundation of leadership, organizational experience, and a deep commitment to advancing the profession of nutrition and dietetics across Louisiana.

 

Megan Baldwin has contributed meaningfully to LAND’s mission through active involvement in key initiatives. As a member of the 2023 Annual Conference Committee, she has helped plan and execute one of LAND’s most impactful professional development events. In addition, she served on the 2024 Award and Scholarship Selection Committee, working to recognize excellence in the field and support emerging dietetics professionals.

With a keen attention to detail, strong fiscal management skills, and a passion for service, Megan Baldwin, RDN, LDN, is well-prepared to serve as Treasurer with integrity, transparency, and dedication to LAND’s continued growth.

Awards/Scholarships Chair – Emily Caire, MS, RDN, LDN

Emily Caire is a native of New Orleans, residing in the Baton Rouge area for the past 20 years.
She earned her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2005 and
completed her Dietetic Internship at Nicholls State University in 2006. Emily also earned a
Master of Science degree in Leadership and Human Resource Development from LSU in 2023.
Emily is a Registered Dietitian, licensed by the state of Louisiana since 2006. Additionally, she
has maintained membership with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics since 2006. Emily has
served as a preceptor for dietetic interns and students and earned Preceptor of the Year from
Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (Fran U) in 2019, 2021, and 2024. Emily also
serves as a member of the Fran U Advisory Committee for the Master of Science in Nutritional
Sciences program. She is a member of the Omega Nu Lambda National Honor Society.
After working in various settings, Emily joined the LSU, Student Health Center (SHC) in 2016
where she maintains her current full-time employment. Her work at the SHC includes serving
students individually; facilitating nutrition presentations in academic classes, LSU affiliated
organizations and community groups; coordinating campus outreach; and serving as the
Dietitian on the Eating Disorders Treatment Team.
Emily is passionate about helping others nurture a healthy relationship with food and body. In
her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, photography, shelling, and
bird watching.
